Day 54 – October 30, 2026 – Luke 10

We have a similar sending of the disciples which we saw in the previous chapter. The whole shaking off the dust of your feet is seen in both as well, but this chapter contains the success stories of Satan falling from heaven, and snakes and scorpions and demons submitting to the discipls. We also get the parable of the good samaritan in this chapter. It is the only place in the Bible where we find it. I would ask that instead of a Samaritan you interchange it with, I don’t know, maybe an Iranian, or a Palestinian, or some people group that historically we do not look kindly upon. That is what the Samaritan was, and that is the purpose of this parable. The individual who is least likely to help, is the one who helps, he is the neighbor, and he should be our neighbor, in the words of Mr. Rogers.
